Desa Gemilang Bubur Lambuk & Iftar Perdana
My name is Shahira Anggreni Binti Suryadi from KAED majoring in Quantity Surveying (2218202).
On 23 March 2024, Saturday, our section (13) had a program called "Desa Gemilang Bubur Lambuk and Iftar perdana " for residents in Taman Desa Gemilang. The purpose we did this program is because we know, a charity program like this can aim to liven up the month of Ramadan with charitable activities while reaping the blessings and virtues of Ramadhan. Therefore, at this time, I will share my experience by doing this program.
- Social Impact
For the team, we divided into 2 teams, which are in the morning session. They will do all the preparation and start cooking the bubur lambuk for the girls, while the boys will conduct cleaning inside the surau. In the evening session, the next activity is preparing the iftar for all the residents and distributing the bubur lambuk. I can see that the process of making bubur lambuk involves an effort where we come together to prepare the dish. We gather to wash the rice, chop vegetables, cut meat into small pieces, and mix the ingredients. This shared activity promotes interaction, teamwork, and bonding among participants. This interaction provides an opportunity for us to connect, have conversations, and develop relationships with each other and the other communities involved.
- Individual Impact
I can say that, taking part in in bubur lambuk distribution exposes individuals to the needs and challenges of others in their community. It promotes empathy, understanding, and a broader perspective on social issues, encouraging individuals to be more mindful and compassionate in their daily lives. As a result, participating in this bubur lambuk distribution offers us an opportunity to earn spiritual rewards and blessings, enhancing our connection to Allah and deepening our spirituality especially in Ramadhan month. Here are some ways in which bubur lambuk distribution aligns with specific SDGs:
- SDG 1: No Poverty
- SDG 2: Zero Hunger
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
- SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
